This is my first blog, so I will spend a little time introducing myself.
I am a doctor, with a degree in General Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery.
I grew up in Mumbai, India, moving to Hyderabad after my marriage to Dr Rajshekher, who is a Neurologist.
I practiced in Hyderabad for 10 years before moving to Dubai in 2009 with my husband and 2 kids.
I work for Zulekha Hospitals, Dubai, as Specialist General Surgeon.
I perform surgeries for diseases involving the appendix, gall bladder, pancreas, intestines, breast, etc.
Some common surgeries I do include appendicectomy, cholecystectomy, piles, fissures, hernias, etc.
Screening for breast cancer and breast tumors in women is of special interest to me.
My area of special interest is all types of Laparoscopic surgery involving the abdomen.
There are many other aspects of surgery which are important to discuss with patients, but I hope the information given above is sufficient as an introduction.

ReplyDeleteHi, friends! I am happy my wife took the initiative finally, after so much persuasion! Like her cousin Sheela said on facebook, all doctors should start a blog so that they can reach out to their patients! What do you say? But patients should also use this opportunity to interact with their doctor!
ReplyDeleteI am one of many many patients who were treated and cured by Dr Phani. I suffered by prostrate gland cancer reflected by PSU at 37. I was treated by Dr Phani and her group six years back. I was operated at Bombay. Now I am completely free from cancer and leading life like a normal person with good health. I know how doctors take efforts to cure their patients and they feel when their patients are completely cured. There are several patients like me got cured like me. God Bless Her and her family. Let all her patients shower their blessing at this occasion.
