This is my first blog, so I will spend a little time introducing myself.
I am a doctor, with a degree in General Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery.
I grew up in Mumbai, India, moving to Hyderabad after my marriage to Dr Rajshekher, who is a Neurologist.
I practiced in Hyderabad for 10 years before moving to Dubai in 2009 with my husband and 2 kids.
I work for Zulekha Hospitals, Dubai, as Specialist General Surgeon.
I perform surgeries for diseases involving the appendix, gall bladder, pancreas, intestines, breast, etc.
Some common surgeries I do include appendicectomy, cholecystectomy, piles, fissures, hernias, etc.
Screening for breast cancer and breast tumors in women is of special interest to me.
My area of special interest is all types of Laparoscopic surgery involving the abdomen.
There are many other aspects of surgery which are important to discuss with patients, but I hope the information given above is sufficient as an introduction.
